THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STORY
Suzanne Crowley’s fascination with Tudor England began long before The Stolen One.
Growing up, she devoured biographies about Henry VIII, his wives, and the mysteries surrounding the Tudor court. One story in particular stayed with her: that of Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s sixth and final wife.
After Henry’s death, Katherine married Thomas Seymour and gave birth to a daughter, Mary Seymour. Katherine died shortly after Mary’s birth, and by the time Mary was around two years old, she disappeared from the historical record.
What happened to her?
That unanswered question captured Suzanne’s imagination and eventually helped inspire the mystery at the heart of The Stolen One.
